Greetings Family and Supporters of Rev. Joy Powell just a brief update regarding phone calls, emails, letters which are still very much appreciated to shine a light on the incident involving the nurse and her unprovoked attack upon Rev. Joy, and the fact that the nurse has not been reprimanded, nor suspended, she is still employed as if nothing ever occurred yet the possibility as always exists that Rev. Joy could receive violations as a result of what transpired then and with other incidents in which certain prison personnel seem to think their authority was undermined and Rev. Joy needs to be held accountable to another standard. Within the past two weeks because there is never a dull day at Bedford Hills C.F. a transgender inmate was transferred there because the incarcerated had already undergone battles with the spread of Covid throughout the prison some sensed the new transfer had Covid yet was allowed by staff to interact freely, without a mask despite repeated warnings to staff which went ignored. Those suspicions were confirmed earlier this week when that inmate in question was tested, found to have Covid, and finally quarantined but not without consequences for the rest of the population as a result of apathy and refusal to take this dangerous health threat seriously. The incarcerated women have been locked down for 30 hours without a chance to shower, no access to the kiosk or phone to inform family, or friends about the conditions, or more importantly their well-being. They have been refused their medication, and they recently just received food. The negligence, the inhumane treatment people must endure inside prison walls becomes more insane with each day’s passing. Just when you figure with all that our Political Prisoners and other POW’s must endure every single day that it can’t get worst, they prove yes it can, we say they can’t go any lower in depravity and inhumane they prove yes we can sink to lower depths even if they must create it. In the meantime, as many of you still make these phone calls please demand that the basic needs of these incarcerated females not be denied, and their rights to due process not be interfered with when events occur out of their control, of which are no fault of their own.
